Tropical
Flowers and Foliage Care Tips:
The shelf live for tropical flowers is from 7 up to 20 days
depending correct environmental conditions. If cared correctly the
foliage can last for more than 20 days.
1. cut Stems about 1” from bottom
2. place in vase with room temperature water
3. mist daily with room temperature water (tropical flowers and
foliage love high humidity)
4. replace the water and re cut stems every 2-3 days
5. keep away from direct heat or cold (Do Not Refrigerate)
Tropical flowers and foliage come from warm, humid climates and
cannot tolerate cold temperatures for extended periods. Ideal
storage temperature is 55 f with exposure to temperatures as low as
45 f tolerable for periods of only 4-6 hours. The flower most
sensitive to the cold is the Heliconia. Keep the flower at the
temperatures between 55 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit (13 to 23
Centigrade).
A suggested tip: Mist regularly with a fine
spray of water to help prevent drying out in a centrally heated
conditions
Roses Care Tips :
Because South American roses are usually flown dry packed they must
be rehydrated properly to achieve the best results. However, if you
cut them properly, then place them in clean water and use flower
food, they are fabulous!!!!
As a rule South American roses behave differently to European grown
roses in as much as they tend to open quickly but hold the bloom for
much longer. So don’t view speedy opening as a problem.
A. Recut the stems with a sharp, clean knife or pruning shears.
B. Place roses in clean, warm water (105 degrees F/40 degrees C)
with floral preservative.
C. Avoid placing the flowers in an area where they might receive
excess heat or other extreme conditions. This will help them last
longer.
Average vase life of a fresh rose is from 10 to 14 days depending on
the variety. This means roses will last for approximately 5 to 7
days for your customer if sold within 5 to 7 days after arriving at
your shop.
